He chose this higher priced model since it is made of top quality “304″ stainless steel and can hold up better even with frequent rain and humidity in Florida. Thus, it took him 45 minutes to assemble the product. The amount of hardware was much less than he expected and everything seemed to line up nicely. As advertised, the heater fired right up and he felt the heat even he was 9 ft. away. He really liked the pilotless lighting system as well. For $300, this heater met his expectations.
Another satisfied buyer said that this patio heater is great. It started up right out of the box and provided lots of warmth on those cool evenings. As one reviewer put it, he previously had a propane patio heater with a pilot light and “what a pain!” he cited. On the other hand, this heater with a pilotless direct ignition is fantastic as it produced light immediately. “With this unit, you turn it on when you want to use it and then shut it down”, he added. On the other hand, one user was extremely disappointed in this product. He reiterated that it was almost impossible to put the heat shield together since the small nuts & bolts were not long enough to fit through the 3 pieces of metal. He honestly had to wrestle with the heat shield on the ground, and needed to take it apart numerous times since it all never lined up properly. When he finally did get the entire unit together, the ignition switch did not work, and the heater’s main burner did not light up. After numerous attempts to make it work, he boxed it up and sent it back. Another user said that he was very disappointed in the value proposition of this product. Upon arrival, one of the heat shield panels was dented, making it very difficult to assemble. He sheared a bolt in half while tightening it. For the price of the heater, he was not impressed with the quality of workmanship and he’s concerned of the overall durability of this product to stand up to the elements. He commented that if this was a $150 heater, he wouldn’t be as upset. However, for $300, he would expect a much better product.
